New Beginnings, Big Moves & Exciting Growth
Hello, Friends!
It’s been about six months since I moved to Oceanside from Indianapolis, and what a journey it’s been. While there’s nothing quite like Hoosier Hospitality, I’ve learned there’s no place like Southern California either. As I settle into life on the West Coast, I’m proud to call both Indiana and California “home.”
So, what’s new?
Everything! A new home, new friends, new clients, and an entirely new way of life. Not to say one is better than the other—just different. Although, I have to admit, most days the weather is much better. I sincerely hope I never grow jaded by 70-degree days and endless sunshine!
But, it hasn’t been all sunshine…
Adjusting to a new place comes with its own challenges. I’ve navigated waves of homesickness while unpacking and rebuilding my life here. I’ve missed the big hugs and belly laughs with lifelong friends as well as our spontaneous get-togethers. But distance has also been a gift—it’s inspired me to forge new, meaningful connections and embrace growth in ways I never expected.
Reintroducing myself has been a privilege.
After spending 30 years in one place, it’s easy to rely on shared memories to shape conversations. Here, I’ve had to start fresh, which has been humbling and exciting. It’s reminded me to keep my best face forward and embrace new opportunities with open arms.
One of my favorite refreshers has been revisiting The Gospel According to Muldoon, which opens with:
“First impressions set the tone for success more often than class, credentials, education, or what you paid for lunch.”
With that in mind, I’m leaning into every new encounter with curiosity, confidence, and gratitude.
Exciting News: Growing Compound Methods
As we kick off 2025, Compound Methods is proud to welcome two incredible new clients—a nonprofit and a U.S. Defense and Homeland Security company—who are trusting us with their media production and public relations needs. While much of our work remains proprietary, we’re excited to explore ways to share meaningful collaborations soon.
Do you know of someone looking for an extraordinary storytelling partner? Send them our way! We’d love to help bring their vision to life.
Until Next Time…
One of my favorite phrases! I’d love to learn how you’re doing—what’s new in your world? How can we keep supporting each other? Let’s stay connected over a call, text, or email. I’ll look out for your responses via compoundmethods@gmail.com.
I’m excited to hear from you, and until next time! :)
Sincerely,
