WEVV sports director JoJo Gentry feels lucky to have covered sports in Evansville

EVANSVILLE – At one point, college wasn’t really a choice for JoJo Gentry.

She admits her grades weren't the best, earning Bs and Cs at Lapel High School. Gentry recalls enjoying having fun with friends. She considered going to beauty school with them.

It wasn’t until a campus visit to Butler University with her sister and an email to the dean of admissions that her future changed.

Gentry has spent nearly four years on air covering sports in Evansville for WEVV (Channel 44). She announced earlier this month her final day on television will be Feb. 8.
